About this tool

Create passwords you can trust

Predictable random values weaken passwords. This generator uses the browser’s cryptographic random-number source, then selects and shuffles characters without modulo bias.

Every generated password includes at least one character from each selected set. Adjust the length, remove ambiguous characters, create a batch, and use the entropy estimate to compare configurations.

How it works

Generate secure passwords in three steps

  1. 1Choose the length

Set a password length from 4 to 128 characters and decide how many results you need.

  2. 2Select character types

Include lowercase, uppercase, numbers, symbols, or remove visually ambiguous characters.

  3. 3Generate and save

Create a fresh cryptographic set, copy the results, and store them in a password manager.

Common questions

Password Generator FAQ

How are passwords generated securely?

The generator uses crypto.getRandomValues from your browser’s native Web Crypto API with rejection sampling to avoid biased character selection.

What password length should I use?

A unique password of at least 16 characters is a strong default for most accounts. Longer passwords provide more entropy when the full character set is used.

What does excluding ambiguous characters do?

It removes characters that are easy to confuse visually, such as uppercase I, lowercase l, the number 1, uppercase O, and zero.

Are generated passwords stored?

No. Passwords are generated in your browser and are not transmitted or saved by UtilityBase. Copy them into a trusted password manager.
